Disney Magic at the Village of Lakeside

Tucked between Lake Reams and Lake Burden is the appropriately named Village of Lakeside. This area is another gem in the picturesque community of Horizon West. Lakeside is the perfect spot for Disney Cast Members, being one of closest communities to the Magic Kingdom cast parking lot. This area is also perfect for families, as there is no end to the family friendly restaurants in the Lakeside Village Center.
Lakeshore Community in the Lakeside Village is unique in that it was one of the few communities built in Horizon West in the style of a luxury resort. The amenities in this community include a fitness center, clubhouse and resort style swimming pool, all offering view to the two adjacent lakes. These lakes both have community access that allows for kayaking, paddle boarding, or fishing. There’s a playground for fun summer days and a fire pit for chillier fall nights. Lakeshore Homes start in the 400s and go all the way to 1.5 million, each built with special attention that truly make them designer homes.

Windermere Trails in the Lakeside Village is just one of many quaint and lovely neighborhoods in the area. This neighborhood is just off Reams Road, which allows direct access to Walt Disney World. Most townhouses were built in between 2012 and 2018, and vary in size, offering options for all kinds of families. Townhome sizes begin at 3 rooms and go all the way to 6 rooms, with most having two car garages and private courtyards. Amenities include a pool, splash park and playground, perfect for keeping little ones occupied. The neighborhood is unique in that there is an elementary school within five minutes walking distance from the front of the neighborhood.
Lakeside offers a great variety in school choices for those with younger children. To start your little ones off well, StarChild Academy has a pre-kindergarten program to start education as early as possible. StarChild has customized curriculum for each grade and school to ensure your child always has the best education. Windermere Preparatory School picks up where StarChild leaves off at, with a special focus on ambition and critical thinking. Both are extremely close to the central Lakeside Village neighborhoods and both come highly rated.
For the musically inclined children, the Lakeside Village has not one but TWO dance studios to teach those little ones with fancy feet. Creative Soles Dance Company and Peaches Dance Studio are both located within the Lakeside Village Plaza. Peaches Dance Studio offers classes for kids as young as three, as well as offering recreational classes. One of these recreational classes, a Silks and Trampoline class, is taught by a former Cirque Du Soleil performer. Creative Soles, on the other hand, places emphasis on competition with Petite, Mini, Junior, Teen, Junior Elite and Teen Elite teams.
It goes without saying that our current global situation can be stressful to say the least. Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa is located within the Lakeside Village Plaza and is ready to offer you a safe yet relaxing experience to massage out those knots that have been forming in quarantine. As a response to COVID-19, Hand and Stone has expanded upon their cleaning practices, digital forms to reduce contact, gloves and masks required for all service providers. Hand and Stone ensures that you can maintain your mental health while maintaining health practices.

Never far away from a Floridian’s heart, Publix is at one end of the Lakeside Village Publix. Driving through the Lakeside Village, you can often see nearby residents biking or walking into Publix for a quick bite or to grab some groceries. Adding to the convenience of the Lakeside Village Plaza are fast food restaurants like McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Dunkin. Also located mere minutes from most Lakeside Communities is a Starbucks for those who need some caffeine on the go. For those who to get their caffeine fix along with a delicious bite to eat, First Watch restaurant or Keke’s Breakfast both offer up breakfast and brunch fare that is delicious and easy.
Looking for something a bit different from the normal burgers and beer? Jumbo Sushi is here for more adventurous eaters. While sushi is the main staple, the menu includes unique offerings like miso ramen, pad thai and tofu as well as fresh sushi. Even the sushi rolls choices are diverse, including Alaskan Crunch, Lobster Tempura and Sweet Potato rolls. Paying homage to their proximity to Disney, Jumbo Sushi has had some fun with some of their sushi roll names including Beauty and the Beast roll and the Snow White roll. Another spot for adventurous eaters in the Lakeside Village Plaza is Gator’s Dockside. Another favorite of native Floridians, fried gator is on the menu at Gator’s Dockside! Gator’s Dockside also offers a variety of fresh seafood and classic burgers and fries.
Lakeside is uniquely situated to be not only close to Disney, but also only 15 minutes to Universal and Seaworld, while still maintaining a 25 to 30 drive to downtown Orlando. Like many villages in the Horizon West area, there is an amazing blend of retail and restaurant offerings for everyone, no matter what their interests.
